| C4-binding protein is a plasma protein with a molecular weight of 500000 and consists of 6 | | | chains. Its concentration in serum is about 250ug/ml. It is one of the inhibitors of the | | | complement activation system. The protein combines up to six molecules of C4b at or near | | | the C2 combining site and is thus preventing further association with C2. | | | Catalog # | C7850-19E | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul human plasma or equivalent in agarose-plates. | | Double Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
