Complement factor D is a serine protease of the alternative pathway of complement activation. The protein is a single chain polypeptide with a molecular mass of 25kD. Factor D cleaves factor B bound to C3b, generating the alternative pathway C3 convertase C3bBb and releasing the Ba fragment.

Applications	Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Sandwich ELISA: Use as a capture antibody.
	Western Blot: Run under non-reducing conditions following SDS-PAGE.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Culture Medium	RPMI 1640 with 10% fetal calf serum.
Hybridoma	X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
