Two isoforms of Prostaglandin H synthase are well characterized, namely COX1 and COX2. Both forms of COX proteins are membrane associated heme proteins containing cyclooxygenase and peroxidase activities. These enzymes are targets of NSAID (Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as aspirin. COX2 is a 72kD protein having 60% homology to COX1. It is induced by cytokines and mitogens. Most likely, it plays a role in inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Recommended Dilutions:
Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml using Chemiluminescence.
ELISA: 1:10,000-100,000

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add glycerol (40-50%) and aliquot. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
