| Cyclooxygenase catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and prostacyclins: the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2. Recent discoveries of the induction of cyclooxygenase biosynthesis by a variety of stimuli such as phorbol esters, lipopolysaccharides, and cytokines led to the hypothesis that the inducible form of cyclooxygenase, COX-2, is responsible for the biosynthesis of prostaglandins under acute inflammatory conditions.10 COX-2 is a 72kDa protein which has been cloned from a variety of species including human, mouse, rat, and sheep. | | | Catalog # | C7904-82F | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml ( 1:1000) | | Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 | | Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
