| COX2 (Cyclooxygenase-2. PGHS2) is an inducible dimeric enzyme belonging to prostaglandin G/H synthase family. COX2, similar to COX1, functions to form prostaglandins by catalyzing the synthesis of cyclic endoperoxides from arachidonic acid. COX2 expression is induced by lipopolysaccaride (LPS) and peptoglycan (PGN) and is highly expressed in activated marcophages. It has been implicated as a mediator of inflammation and a possible role in prostanoid signaling in activity-dependent plasticity (1). COX2 is considered as an ideal marker in immune response regulation studies and a therapeutic target against inflammatory diseases (2). | | | Catalog # | C7904-83G | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Western Blotting.
