| Cyclic AMP Response Element Binding protein (CREB) is a basic / leucine zipper transcription factor that binds the cyclic AMP response element (CRE) and activates transcription in response to a variety of extracellular signals including neurotransmitters, hormones, membrane depolarization, and growth and neurotrophic factors. CREB is also regulated by DNA-damaging stimuli and is directly phosphorylated on Ser-121 by the ataxia-telangiectasia-mutated protein kinase, ATM in response to ionizing radiation. | | | Catalog # | C7915-01J | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.3mg/ml | | Form | As reported | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A phospho-peptide spanning the Ser-121 phosphorylation site of human CREB. | | Specificity | This antibody is specific for the Ser-121-phosphorylated form of CREB.
