Cyclin E is a regulatory subunit of cdk-2 and is thought to be rate limiting for the G1/S transition during the mammalian cell cycle. Multiple isoforms of cyclin E are expressed only in tumors but not in the normal tissues, suggesting a post-transcriptional regulation of cyclin E. In vitro analyses indicated that these truncated variant isoforms of cyclin E are able to phosphorylate histone H1. Qualitative and quantitative alterations in cyclin E protein have been implicated as indicators of worse prognosis in various cancers. Ab-1 is superb for biochemical applications including co-precipitation of cdk2.

Recommended Dilution	Immunoprecipitation (Native and denatured): 10ug/mg protein lysate. Co-precipitates cdk2
	Western Blot: 5-10ug/ml for 2hrs at RT

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
