ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionImmunoblot Analysis: 0.10.5ug/ml detects CFTR in RIPA lysates from CFTR-transfected BHK cells. Reported to detect CFTR from a human T84 colon carcinoma epithelial cell lysate. CFTR-transfected BHK cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti- CFTR (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunoprecipitation Immunoprecipitates CFTR from a T84 cell lysate.
Immunocytochemistry Reported to immunostain CFTR in T84 cells.
Note: CFTR runs as a diffuse protein on SDS-PAGE.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

ImmunogenSynthetic peptide (RKGYRQRLELSD) corresponding to residues 2536 of human cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR). The immunizing sequence is identical in monkey and rabbit, has 11/12 identical amino acids in sheep, cow and frog, 10/12 identity in mouse and 9/12 identity in rat.
SpecificityRecognizes human CFTR, Mr 170kD. Two additional proteins were detected, Mr 52 and 38kD.
