ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blot. Also suitable for functional studies (inhibits epithelial uptake of S. typhi in some mouse cell lines). Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionImmunocytochemistry: 1:500. Staining of CFTR in mouse epithelial cells results in cell surface staining consistent with localization at the plasma membrane.
Western Blot: 1:500
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

ImmunogenSynthetic peptide corresponding to aa 103-117(G103RIIASYDPDNKEER117) in the first extracellular loop of human and mouse CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator). This sequence is highly conserved in sheep, bovine and Xenopus laevis CFTR.
SpecificityRecognizes human and mouse CFTR. Cross-reacts with immunologically related proteins in mouse cell line Heb7a that doesn not contain CFTR mRNA.
Detects a band of ~170kDa by Western blot.
