Cytochrome C, approximately 13kD, highly conserved, is a heme- containing protein involved in mitochondrial electron transport. Cytochrome C is released from the mitochondria in response to pro- apoptotic stimuli and serves as a cofactor in initiating the activation of the APAF-1/Caspase-9 complex. Thus, Cytochrome C plays important roles in the activation of the DEVD-specific caspases such as Caspase-3 (CPP32) and DNA fragmentation.

Recommended Dilution	Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 for 10min at RT

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
