| Cytochrome C, approximately 13kD, highly conserved, is a heme- containing protein involved in mitochondrial electron transport. Cytochrome C is released from the mitochondria in response to pro- apoptotic stimuli and serves as a cofactor in initiating the activation of the APAF-1/Caspase-9 complex. Thus, Cytochrome C plays important roles in the activation of the DEVD-specific caspases such as Caspase-3 (CPP32) and DNA fragmentation. | | | Catalog # | C9095-04J | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
