| Cytochrome C/Apaf-2 (apoptosis protease activating factor-2) is well known for its role in electron transport. During apoptosis (programmed cell death), Cytochrome C is released from the mitochondria into the cytosol where it binds to Apaf-1. Apaf-1 then activates caspase 9. Caspase 9 activation triggers other downstream caspase events in the proteolytic cascade. The mechanism by which Cytochrome C is released from the mitochondria and its function in Caspase 9 activation is still unclear. | | | Catalog # | C9095-09A | | Applications | | | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1ug/ml | | Cell extracts from 293T cells (2x10e6) were separated into cytoplasmic and nuclear fraction, resolved by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with C9095-09A at 1ug/ml. Proteins were visualized using a peroxidase-conjugated antibody to mouse IgG and a chemiluminescence detection system. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | *Recommended Secondary Antibodies | I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo | | I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
