Cytokeratin 14 is one of two cytokeratins that can distinguish stratifying epithelial cell types from simple epithelial cell types, being expressed by stratifying/keratinocytes cell types but not by simple epithelial cells. Clone 3H2053 has been reported to be suitable for use in Western blotting.
