Cytokeratin 14, a type I intermediate filament, is one of the two cytokeratins that distinguish stratifying epithelial cells types from simple epithelial cell types.Thus, cytokeratin 14 is expressed by stratifying/keratinocyte cell types but not by simple epithelial cells.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsFlow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells.
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen/Paraffin): For paraffin sections, microwave treatment or high temperature antigen unmasking technique is recommended. Prior exposure of fixed tissues to enzyme (trypsin) digestion is deleterious to epitope expression. The fixative recommended is neutral buffered formalin.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
