Cytokeratin 5 and 6 are known as high molecular weight cytokeratins (58kD and 56kD respectively) and are part of the basic (type II) subfamily of cytokeratins. These two cytokeratins are closely related and they are found in non-keratinizing strati ed squamous epithelia, epithelia of trachea, apocrine and sweat glands of skin, epidermis, hair follicles and mammary glands. Applications	Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution	Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200. Formalin- xed, paraf n-embedded tumor tissue studies, and may be used to distinguish squamous carcinoma from adenoma. Requires high temperature antigen retrieval using 0.01M EDTA solution; boil for 15 minutes, then cool down for at least 15-20 minutes at room temperature.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
