| Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins and are characterized by a remarkable biochemical diversity, represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between 40kD and 68kD and isoelectric pH between 4.9 – 7.8. The individual cytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20. Cytokeratin 1 has the highest molecular weight and the highest isoelectric pH, while cytokeratin 19 has the lowest molecular weight and a low isoelectric pH. The cytokeratins are divided into the type I and type II subgroups, the type II family members comprising the basic to neutral cytokeratins 1-8, while the type I group comprises the acidic cytokeratins 9-20. The cytokeratins are expressed in combinations which characterize the type of epithelium. | | | Catalog # | C9097-40G | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200. Paraf n-embedded tissue | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | pancreas/bladder cancer tissue | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 3G124 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 1% BSA, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | OTN11 human ovarian carcinoma cells | | Specificity | Recognizes human Cytokeratin 7.
