This antibody is useful to determine if a neoplasm originated from a certain type of epithelial source. Cytokeratin 8 exists on several types of normal and neoplastic epithelia , including many ductal and glanular epithelia such as colon, gastric, small intestine, tracheal, esophageal and transitional epithelium. This antibody may be useful for distinction of metastatic malignant tumors of these epithelial origin.

Applications	Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution	Immunohistochemistry: Formalin- xed paraf n-embedded or frozen tissue sections. Pepsin digestion or heat induced antigen recovery procedure is required for speci c staining of formalin- xed paraf n-embedded tissue sections. To stain, incubate 30–60 minutes at RT or overnight at 4°C. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
