| USDA-Registered Polyclonal Production |
|
| United States Biological is known for more than the thousands of antibodies offered in our catalog. Our antibodies are produced in state of the art facilities in the US. |
|
| Catalog # | CS010-010 |
| We maintain current USDA certification as a qualified animal research facility, and comply with the Animal Welfare Act. We follow guidelines set forth by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and have established an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to review all production protocols prior, during and after all client programs. |
| Antibody Program | A typical standard protocol includes animal purchase, housing and care, all immunizations, bleeds and exsanguinations as per our standard protocol formats. Your project may require different specifications and, therefore, prices will vary. Our costs are quite reasonable. Although we will conduct single animal programs, the additional costs to add a second animal can produce a significantly greater yield and likelihood for success. |
| Standard 2 Rabbit Protocol | Standard protocol pricing includes animal purchase, housing and care up to 49 days, all immunizations, bleeds and exsanguinations as per the following schedule: |
| Pre-Peptide Consultation if necessary |
| Required, but not included in price | Peptide Production |
| Peptide Conjugation |
| Day 0 Pre-immunization bleed Antigen Injection (s.c and i.m; CFA; 200ug)Day 14 Antigen Injection (IFA; 100ug)Day 28 Antigen Injection (IFA; 100ug)Day 35 First Bleed (20-25ml/rabbit) ELISADay 42 Antigen Injection (IFA; 100ug)Day 49 Final Production Bleed (~40-50ml/rabbit) ELISA Return of antisera and peptides |
| Continuation (extra cost) | Day 63 Antigen Injection (IFA; 100ug) |
| Day 77 Third Bleed (20-25ml/rabbit) |
| Antigen Requirements | Per Animal Minimum Recommended |
| Chickens 250ug 1mg |
| Rabbits 500ug 2mg |
| Goats 2.5mg 5mg |
| Sheep 2.5mg 5mg |
| The amount of antigen required varies from a minimum as shown for the standard protocol to a maximum when additional injections might be needed to boost antibody production or to continue a maintenance program longer than the stated time. Affinity columns will also require additional antigen. |
| Antibody Quotation Worksheet | For a quotation, please supply the following information: |

| Important Note | Standard 35 day projects: All projects will automatically terminate 1 week after the expiration of the standard protocol unless a written request is made for the extension and additional charges are paid @$195/rabbit/month. This can be in the form of a Purchase Order. Please communicate with us in writing fax/email to avoid any confusion and make sure instructions are properly followed. |
| Optional Antibody Services (by quotation) | |
|
| Purification | |
| Rabbit polyclonal antibodies can be affinity purified. This is best suited for when serum alone often has too much non-specific interference. |
|
| ELISA | |
| Each antibodies (from 2 rabbits) will be tested in a standard ELISA format for titer. |
|
| Western Blot | Purified antibody is tested in Western Blot against a variety of normal tissue, tumor tissue, and cell line lysates (see below). Just select which lysates you would like to have run. A full panel of 14 lysates of your choosing is provided, which yields a more comprehensive expression pattern and allows for testing in human, mouse, rat tissue and cell lines. Scans of the blot in an electronic image are supplied. |
|
| Immunohistochemistry | |
| Purified antibodies are suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. We have a comprehensive variety of normal and tumor tissues, and slides. This service includes testing for five tissues. Electronic images are provided. |
