| The DBF4 gene was originally identified in replication mutants of S. cerevisiae that exhibited a “dumbbell former” phenotype characterized by a cell with a single large bud. The human homolog was later isolated in a two-hybrid screen for proteins that interact with the human Cdc7-related kinase (huCdc7), a conserved kinase that phosphorylates MCM2 and MCM3 and is required for the G1/S transition. DBF4 functions as a regulatory subunit for the human Cdc7 kinase and is essential for the initiation of DNA repair. Alternate names for DBF4 include activator of S-phase kinase, chiffon homolog A, DBF4-type zinc finger-containing protein 1, ASK, DBF4A, ZDBF1, and CHIF. | | | Catalog # | D1185-40C | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation.
