| Delta-1 (also known as Delta-like 1, DLL1) is an 80-100kD vertebrate homolog of the Drosophila delta protein. Rat Delta-1 is a type I transmembrane protein that is 697aa in length. It contains a 520aa extracellular domain (ECD) and a 154aa cytoplasmic region. The ECD has one DSL segment (aa158-220) and eight consecutive EGF-like domains (aa225-515). Proteolytic processing of Delta-1 by ADAMs generates soluble intracellular and extracellular domains.
