| Desmin are class-III intermediate filaments found in muscle cells, and are expressed during the formation of muscle cells or fibers. Cytoskeletal intermediate filaments (IFs) are constructed from two-chain alpha-helical coiled-coil molecules arranged on an imperfect helical lattice (1,2). In adult striated muscle they form a fibrous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane from the periphery of the Z-line structures. Desmin mutations have been linked to familial cardiac and skeletal myopathy (3,4). | | | Catalog # | D3221-08C | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blotting: 1:500 | | Immunohistochemistry: 1:500 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
