Desmosomes are a type of intercellular junction between epithelial, myocardial, and certain other cell types. Desmoglein 1 is a calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein component of desmosomes in vertebrate epithelial cells. Currently, three desmoglein isoforms have been identified DSG1, DSG2 and DSG3; all members of the cadherin cell adhesion molecule family. DSG1 has been identified as the autoantigen of the autoimmune skin blistering disease pemphigus foliaceus.
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:32,000
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3.75ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
