Dicer functions is a RNase III-like enzyme which cleaves double-stranded RNA into 21-23 nt RNAs (siRNA short interfering RNA). It is required by the RNA interference and small temporal RNA (stRNA) pathways to produce the active small RNA component that represses gene expression. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.

Recommended Dilution	Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000. Detects ~217kD band

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
