| The DJ-1 molecule is a conserved ~20 kD protein that is involved in diverse cellular processes such as cellular transformation, control of protein-RNA interaction, oxidative stress response to control of male infertility, and several others. Mutations in the human DJ-1 gene are associated with the development of an early-onset, recessive form of Parkinson’s disease. DJ-1 is found in sperm of many mammalian species, including humans, and in rodent species it appears to affect | | | the capacity of the sperm to fertilize. DJ-1 has been reported to appear in the sera of women at an early stage of breast cancer, and its level of expression has been observed to increase, together with several other proteins, in prostate cancer cell lines. It has also been shown that down-regulation of DJ-1 in prostate cancer cells sensitizes the cells to drugs that induce apoptosis. | | | Catalog # | D3790-01A | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Immunohistochemistry (frozen, paraffin): 1:10-1:20. Pretreatment with trypsin is recommended prior to staining formalin-fixed paraffin tissues. | | Western Blot: 1:10-1:20 | | Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:20 | | ELISA: 1:100-1:1000 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgM | | Clone No | 6A65 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not Determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Supernatant | | Immunogen | Recombinant human DJ-1 corresponding to the N-terminal region of the protein. | | Specificity | Recognizes human DJ-1 protein at ~24kD.
