| Antibiotic consisting of a hydrogenated form of streptomycin; used against tuberculosis and tularemia and Gram-negative organisms. Both dihydrostreptomycin and streptomycin are used for treatment of bacterial infections in food-producing animals. Dihydrostreptomycin is formed by reduction of streptomycin.
