DDC catalyses the second reaction in the biosynthesis of catecholamines and serotonin. In the final stages of dopamine synthesis, this enzyme converts L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) to dopamine. This pathway is of particular research interest since L-DOPA is regularly used to treat the symptoms of Parkinsonís disease.

Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry (frozen). Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionWestern Blot: 1:1000, detects a band of approximately 55kD in bovine adrenal medulla lysates.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
