| Emerin is a serine rich protein ubiquitously expressed with highest concentration in skeletal and cardiac muscles. It is localized in the nuclear membrane and is coded by STA gene at Xq28 locus. Emerin deficiency is the main causal feature of Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy (EDMD), which is a X-linked disorder leading to weakening of muscles and cardiomyopathy presented as heart block. | | | Catalog # | E2257 | | Epitope | Near N-terminus | | Applications | Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): (Ab at 1:10 for 60 min at RT) Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. | | Positive Control | Tonsil | | Cellular Localization | Perinuclear | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 5G95 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid with 0.09% sodium azide. | | Purity | Culture supernatant | | Immunogen | Recombinant protein corresponding to 222 amino acid fragment near N-terminus of human emerin protein. | | Specificity | Recognizes Emerin.
