SpecificityRecognizes human Endomucin, a mucus glycoprotein, located mainly in carcinoma cells and in the glycocalix of most glandular epithelial cells. An excellent marker for carcinomas, occasionally it shows very weak reactivity with sarcomas and brain tumours. Does not react with normal colon or rectal epithelium but colorectal carcinomas are stained positive.
