The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear encoded endonuclease that is localized in the mitochondrion. The encoded protein is widely distributed among animals and cleaves DNA at GC tracts. This protein is capable of generating the RNA primers required by DNA polymerase gamma to initiate replication of mitochondrial DNA.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml, detects a band of ~35kD in HepG2 and 3T3 cell lysates. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 15ug/ml. Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining. sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Immunohistochemistry Positive Control
Human pancreas
