Endothelins (ET) show potent constrictor activity in vascular and non-vascular smooth muscle. This family of 21-amino acid peptides exists in at least three isoforms, ET-1, ET-2, and ET-3, and is produced in endothelial and epithelial cells. ET's can mediate biological effects in cells and tissues, and have been shown to bind to an ET receptor in the lung, kidney, heart and liver.

Applications
	Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot and RIA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:300
	Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:250
	RIA: 1:25,000. Use to concentrate ET-1 in solution, e.g. serum/plasma, milk, urine.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
