Catalog #E3374-07
Biological Activity The optimal EGF concentration in cell culture is 0.125ng/ml depending on cell type.
Biological Activity 5ng/ml of this lot supports a 2.5- fold increase in cell number in a 5-day assay using human foreskin broblasts. Previously, 5ng/ml EGF supported a 2.2-fold increase in cell number in a 5-day assay using normal rat kidney broblasts (NRK-49F).
Storage and Stability May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Molecular Weight16kDa
PuritySingle band on SDS-PAGE gel at 16kDa (1ug run under non-reducing conditions and Coomassie blue stained).
Form100ug/vial of lyophilized powder. Lyophilized from 157ul of 20mM ammonium acetate. Quantitated by spectrophotometry using the extinction coef cient for EGF [E (1%, 280nm)]= 30.9
