Specifications

EGF stimulates the growth of various epidermal and epithelial tissues in vivo and in vitro and of some fibroblasts in cell culture. Epidermal Growth Factor Mouse Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 53 amino acids including 3 intramolecular disulfide-bonds.

Biological Activity The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of murine BALB/c 3T3 cells (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is < 0.1ng/ml.

Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
