| The Ep-CAM (Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule), also termed as MK-1, GA733-2, KSA, 17-1A or EGP40, is a 40kD adhesion receptor, which is expressed in most simple, pseudostratified and transitional epithelia, but not in adult squamous epithelium (in humans). Its overexpession was suggested to be associated with enhanced epithelial proliferation on the majority of human carcinomas such as stomach, colon, pancreas, gall bladder, bile duct, mammary gland, breast and lung carcinoma. Thus Ep-CAM represents the best marker of tumor of epithelial lineage for diagnosis and therapy of cancer. | | | Catalog # | E3414-11E | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
