| The viral capsid antigen of EBV is abundantly expressed in cells undergoing productive infection, and it has polypeptide and glycoprotein components ranging in size from 26-200kD, with a 143kD polypeptide (BNRF1 reading frame) being the major component. The membrane antigen complex is found on the virion envelope and consists of at least three major EBV induced glycoproteins: gp350/220, gp125, and gp85. gp125, encoded by BALF4, is found in abundance in the cell nucleus and in the endoplasmic reticulum but it is not a major structural protein of the virion. | | | Catalog # | E3440-05 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Immunohistochemistry: Antigen retrieval is required | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 1.B.263 | | Host | Mouse | | Concentration | ~0.1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid PBS, pH 7.2, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography | | Immunogen | Recombinant EB nuclear antigen. | | Specificity | Recognizes the EB nuclear antigen (EBNA-1) at ~70kD.
