| The tetramic acid equisetin, is produced by a number of species of Fusarium. Interest in equisetin emerged with reports of its inhibitory activity against human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) integrase in vitro that was mechanistically distinct from previously described inhibitors. Equisetin inhibits 3' end-processing and strand transfer as well as disintegration catalysed by either the full-length enzyme or the truncated integrase core. | | | Catalog # | E3450-55 | | Purity | >99% by HPLC | | Solubility | Soluble in ethyl acetate, ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. | | CAS Number | 57749-43-6 | | Molecular Formula | C22H31NO4 | | Molecular Weight | 373.5 | | Source | Fusarium equiseti | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
