Specifications

A selective confirmatory medium used to detect Enterococci in water.

DescriptionThis medium is highly selective for enterococci due to the presence of sodium azide and ethyl violet, which inhibit Gram negative bacilli and Gram positive sporeformers. The medium contains a phosphate buffer system for pH control. Peptone, yeast extract and dextrose provide the nutrients that support the growth of enterococci.
