| Ezrin is a member of the ERM family (ezrin, radixin, moesin) of proteins that link the cell membrane to the actin cytoskeleton and that are involved in cytoskeletal organization, cell motility and morphogenesis. The protein (586aa) consists of three domains: a membrane-binding aminoterminal domain, an extended alpha-helical domain, and a carboxyterminal domain that has an actin-binding site. Aberrantly high ezrin protein expression has been detected in the stromal cells of hemangioblastoma. Moreover, a high ezrin expression level is associated with immortalization and the increased proliferation rate of cells in vitro. It appears to play a role in the progression of tumors, such as the metastasis of osteosarcoma. Human Ezrin gene is localized to the end of the long arm of chromosome 6 (6q22-q27). | | | Catalog # | E9100-25D | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
