| Fatty acid binding protein is one of a group of lowmolecular weight proteins involved in the solubilization and transport of fatty acids. The release of cytoplasmic heart fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) into the plasma of cardiac patients is used as a marker of cardiac damage. In 18 out of 22 patients with established AMI the plasma FABP level was at or above the threshold level in blood-samples taken within 3.5 hours after the first onset of symptoms of AMI, which compares very favourably with more established markers such as CKMB. | | | Catalog # | F0019-75B | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
