| Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins (14-15kD) that bind long chain fatty acids, their CoA derivatives, billiruben, organic anions and other small hydrophobic molecules. A-FABP (or FABP-4) is a fat cell specific protein that is considered to facilitate the bidirectional flux of fatty acids into and out of the adipocyte in response to insulin and epinephrine. | | | Catalog # | F0019-82C1 | | Source | Recombinant corresponding to aa1-132 from human FABP4, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | Source | E. coli | | Purity | ~95% (SDS-PAGE) | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as liquid. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
