| FEN-1 (Flap Endonuclease and Five prime Exonuclease) is a 42kD protein that functions as an endonuclease that cleaves branched DNA structures containing single-stranded 5' flaps or as an exonuclease on DNA nicks and gaps. FEN-1 endonuclease and exonuclease activities are stimulated by an association with proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in the nucleus. FEN-1 is believed to have important roles in DNA replication and repair and is required in cell-free DNA replication systems. | | | Catalog # | F0047-03 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | As reported | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human Flap Structure-specific Endonuclease 1 encoded within exon 2 (LocusLink ID 2237). The peptide is derived from a portion of FEN-1 that begins a few residues downstream from the I-domain as defined in Swiss-Prot entry P39748. | | Specificity | Specific for human FEN-1 protein. Other species have not been tested. Mouse and rat FEN-1 have 1 mismatch with the peptide used as the immunogen. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | Flap endonuclease 1 |
