| Fibrinogen (clotting factor I) is a heat labile beta glycoprotein present in plasma. It is the precursor of fibrin, which is the key protein constituting the network of the blood clot. Thrombin converts fibrinogen to fibrin by limited proteolysis. Fibrin monomers polymerize to fibrin which is stabilized by cross-linking. | | | Catalog # | F4199-91V | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Double Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Rabbit | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder. No preservatives added. Reconstitute in 1ml sterile ddH2O. Dilute further in PBS, pH 7.2. | | Purity | Serum | | Immunogen | Fibrinogen isolated from fresh rabbit plasma after removing prothrombin | | Specificity | Recognizes rabbit Fibrinogen. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion against normal rabbit plasma a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified fibrinogen. No reaction is obtained with any other plasma protein components or serum. May also react with fibrin monomers, circulating | | fibrinopeptides and fibrin degradation products. Does not crossreact with any other component of rabbit plasma. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
