| Fibrinogen (clotting factor I) is a heat labile beta glycoprotein present in plasma. It is the | | | precursor of fibrin, which is the key protein constituting the network of the blood clot. | | | Thrombin converts fibrinogen to fibrin by limited proteolysis.
