Fibroblast growth factor-9 (FGF-9) is a steroid-regulated mitogen and survival factor for nerve and mesenchymal cells, it is an autocrine/paracrine growth factor considered to be important for the growth and survival of motorneurons and prostate.

Biological Activity Recombinant Mouse FGF-9 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of BAF3 cells expressing FGF receptors (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e6 Units/mg.

Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
