Applications	Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, FACS, and the assessment of thymic epithelial culture contamination with fibroblasts and the identification of cells of mesodermal origin in the fetus. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Immunofluorescence (Acetone fixed tissue): 1:100-1:200
	FACS: 1:100 using fresh or acetone fixed tissue; do not use trypsin to prepare adherent cell lines, use a non-enzymatic detactment procedure.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Purity	Purified by ion exchange chromatography.
Immunogen	Whole human thymic stoma cells.
Specificity	Recognizes human fibroblasts in tissue as well as cultured fibroblasts. On skin sections the antibody reacts with stratum basal epidermal cells. The antigen appears to be a marker for mesodermally dervied (mesenchymal) human connective tissue and tumors derived from such tissue (e.g. fibrosarcomas) {Haynes et al, 1984}. Useful for the assessment of thymic epithelial culture contamination with fibroblasts, and the identification of cells of mesodermal origin in the fetus.
