Fibronectins are disulfide-linked, dimeric glycoproteins of ~440kD. They possess at least four binding sites for collagen, glycosaminoglycans, transglutaminase and a cell surface receptor. Fibronectins are involved in cell adhesion, tissue organization and wound healing. Fibronectins are present in basement membranes, interstitial connective tissue matrix and blood. Cellular fibronectin is widely distributed in the stroma of many malignant tumors.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, RIA
Indirect immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoperoxidase.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Immunohistochemistry: For best results use cryostat sections fixed with either acetone or 4% formaldehyde.
Has not been tested on paraffin embedded tissue.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

ImmunogenProteins secreted by cultured human embryonic fibroblasts
SpecificityRecognizes whole human fibronectin and many of its proteolytic fragments. Specifically recognizes N-terminal fibrin-and heparin-binding 29kD domain. Specificity established by Western blotting with purified domain from two different sources.
