| Epitope tags are useful for the labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining techniques. Due to their small size, they are unlikely to affect the tagged protein’s biochemical properties. The DYKDDDDK peptide has been used extensively as a general epitope tag in expression vectors. | | | Catalog # | F4524-72W | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Western Blot: 1:1000 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 9F166 | | Host | Mouse | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4 15mM sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to DYKDDDK, conjugated KLH. | | Specificity | Recognizes Flag (DYKDDDDK) epitope tag. Recognizes DDDDK-tagged proteins in all species. The small size of this tag and its high hydrophilicity decreases the probability of interference with its expression, proteolytic maturation, antigenicity, localization and function. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
