| The vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VRGFR-2), also known as kinase insert domain-containing receptor (KDR) or kinase insert domain-containing receptor /fetal liver kinase-1 (Flk1), is a tyrosine kinase receptor constitutively expressed in endothelial cells, which mediates proliferative, differentiation, survival signals and modulating developmental angiogenesis through interaction with VEGF (1-2). Upon binding to VEGF, VEGFR2 undergoes ligand-induced dimerization and oligomerization, which activate its intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity resulting in auto- and trans-phosphorylation on specific tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain (3). Activation by VEGF leads to the activation of stress-activated protein kinase (SAPK) 2/p38 while activation by TNF results in the formation of Etk/VEGFR2 complex and activation of the PI3-K/AKT signaling pathway (4-5). | | | Catalog # | F4565-09B | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blotting: 1:10-1:50 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 6k178 | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid. | | Purity | Supernatant | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the N-terminus of human VEGFR2. | | Specificity | Recognizes human VEGFR2. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
