Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Rabbit Supernatant B
The vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VRGFR-2), also known as kinase insert domain-containing receptor (KDR) or kinase insert domain-containing receptor /fetal liver kinase-1 (Flk1), is a tyrosine kinase receptor constitutively expressed in endothelial cells, which mediates proliferative, differentiation, survival signals and modulating developmental angiogenesis through interaction with VEGF (1-2). Upon binding to VEGF, VEGFR2 undergoes ligand-induced dimerization and oligomerization, which activate its intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity resulting in auto- and trans-phosphorylation on specific tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain (3). Activation by VEGF leads to the activation of stress-activated protein kinase (SAPK) 2/p38 while activation by TNF results in the formation of Etk/VEGFR2 complex and activation of the PI3-K/AKT signaling pathway (4-5).
