Flunitrazepam is a powerful sedative drug, C16H12FN3O3, that is illegal in the United States but is used elsewhere as a hypnotic and in anesthesia. It is popularly known as the “date rape” drug because its ability to cause semiconsciousness and memory blackouts has led to its association with unwanted sexual encounters. Flunitrazepam was formerly marketed under the trade name Rohypnol in North America.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
