| Gangliosides play vital roles in various cellular functions such as cell-cell adhesion, communication, and cell-substrate interactions. The divers sugar groups are generated by different types of O-substitutions, usually O-acetyl esters, of the parent molecules. D1.1 is raised against B49 cell line, and it specifically recognizes O-acetyl gangliosides. O-acetyl ganglioside is found in developing rat embryonic neuroectoderm and many human melanoma cells. In developing rat cerebellum, the O-acetyl ganglioside antigen was localized by immunofluorescence to germinal cells of the external granule layer. The D1.1 antigen is a marker for germinal cells, and the acquisition and subsequent loss of it is an aspect of the biochemical maturation of nervous and glial cells. | | | Catalog # | G2005-50A | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence.
