Recommended DilutionRIA: Reconstitute product to 1ml using a proteinaceous physiological buffer. Divide into 100ul aliquots. When required, dilute each 100ul aliquiot to 2.5ml, using 100ul per test.-

Recommended Assay ConditionsAssay Volume: 1ml
Plasma Volume: 250ul
Label: Monoiodinated GIP 125I = 1fmol/tube
Incubation: 5days at 4°C
Separation: Addition of 4mg charcoal suspension(Norit GSX) in buffer per tube. Mix. Incubate for 10 minutes at 4°C. Separate by centrifugation .
Sensitivity: 1fmol/assay tube
Detection Limit: 95% confidence level
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

SpecificityRecognizes C-Terminal aa15-43. No reactivity with N-Terminal fragments. Slightly crossreactive with pancreatic glucagon. Detects ~20% Big GIP and ~80% normal GIP in fasting plasma, incomplete reaction (~30%) with human GIP.
