| GATA-4 belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors, which bind to the consensus DNA | | | sequence (A/T) GATA (A/G) to control diverse tissue-specific programs of gene expression and | | | morphogenesis. It is widely expressed in mesodermal- and endodermal-derived tissues. GATA-4 | | | interacts with other transcription factors such as NKX2.5, and myocyte enhancer factor 2 to | | | regulate cardiac myocyte-specific gene expression. GATA-4 contains 2 zinc finger-binding | | | domains and migrates at 56kD in SDS-PAGE gels. Human GATA-4 share 93%, 93% and | | | 92% aa sequence identity with porcine, rat and mouse GATA-4, respectively. | | | Catalog # | G2021-51C | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, PBS.. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG2b | | Clone No | 9H128 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~500ug/ml | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 0.2um sterile-filtered solution PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with 40-50% glycerol, PBS. | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Recombinant human GATA-4, aa27-212; P43694 (E. coli). | | Specificity | Recognizes human GATA-4 at ~56kD. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
